What is Casa Malevo Club?

Our mission is to free steak lovers from the pain of having to compromise on quality while looking for good deals. No more chewy, tasteless steak.

Every Monday, we will send our newsletter to our members and inform them of the things we found in the market that present the best value for premium quality steak. From Japanese Wagyu to local produce. We are limiting this to two different offers, one at the top and one at the lower end of premium, and usually have limited stock. If you are on this list, and interested in what we have found, you will have 24h to place your order (while stocks last) and receive your steaks by next day delivery. 

If you are thinking of having a nice piece of steak this week, our offers are guaranteed to make you happy (we put a lot of work into them). It is as simple as that.

Who is Abasto?

Located just by Hyde Park, Abasto is the hub of our family of Argentine Steak restaurants in London. From here, we source the highest quality meat, delicatessen and wines from around the world.

Our story began 12 years ago in with a yearning to bring the unique culinary tradition of our homeland to London. We opened our first restaurant in East London's foodie hotspot on Broadway Market in 2004.  Londoners reacted quickly and enthusiastically and we were rewarded with rave reviews from Fay Maschler, Charles Campion and Guy Dimond among others. Since then we have gone from strength to strength and today our family of restaurants includes 'Santa Maria del Sur', 'Casa Malevo' and 'Abasto', each with their own distinctive personality and each highly regarded.

In short, we know a thing or two about steaks.

We have been dealing with meat suppliers and importers for a very long time. Through this, we have learned that meat has become a commodity. There is a long chain of middlemen (mostly men) that sits between the producer and the end consumer. Much of it is necessary, some of it isn't. If you know where to look, you will see that the mechanics of this chain throw up great offers at either end of the cost spectrum every week. We profit from this with our restaurants, when we put these specials onto the 'blackboard'. Now we want our customers to profit from this directly. Each week we will make what we think is the best deal in high premium and entry level premium steak directly available to the consumer. 

 

Abasto and the environment

We are aware that the increasing consumption of meat around the world places a great burden on our planet. We do believe that meat should not be part of the daily diet. Meat should always be of the highest and purest quality, come from free roaming, stress-free animals and be consumed as a special treat. The meat we buy and sell is always of the highest quality in that regard. It does come with food miles, though, and we are working on various projects to offset the carbon we cause through our work in a meaningful way.
